Corps of Engineers receives donation
Mobile, Ala.-The Settings Development Company donated a newly constructed courtesy dock to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, West Point
Project. The floating dock at Liberty Hill Park will provide access for boaters to load and unload gear safely. The Corps and the Settings recently signed a Challenge Cost Share Agreement that authorizes the government to receive property items free of charge. Challenge Cost Share Agreements are partnerships between the Corps and private entities or non-federal organizations that result in beneficial outcomes for the general public. These partnerships unite the resources of each organization and the end product is a valuable asset, feature, service or facility that improves the visitor’s experiences. “This courtesy dock will be a great addition for boaters at Liberty Hill Park”, stated Steve Logan, Operations Manager, West Point Project. According to Logan, The Settings Development Company explored various opportunities in which they could provide something beneficial for the lake community. The Corps had planned to install a dock at Liberty Hill Park, but budget constraints prevented this from happening anytime soon. The Corps is very grateful to the Settings for its generous donation. If your organization would like to participate in such an agreement, please contact the Project Management Office at 706-645-2937.
