National TV Host Joey Mines Joins The Settings of West Point Lake

National TV Host Joey Mines Joins the Community

On his television show, Joey Mines has been talking about the great fishing on West Point Lake. So when The Settings of West Point Lake began to develop a new community on the shores of one of his favorite fishing holes, he was concerned that the land be developed in the most eco-sensitive way possible. After all, the land around West Point Lake has remained pristine and untouched for decades, and Mines had hoped the unspoiled surroundings could endure for several more decades.

When Joey visited The Settings of West Point Lake, he knew he could put his fears of overdevelopment to rest. Here was a developer who seemed just as interested in preserving the land as he was. A developer who wanted to keep as many of the trees as possible, who would work to limit the number of docks on the property, who had an interest in keeping the land as untouched and magical as it was when West Point Lake was created.

What he saw in The Settings of West Point Lake he liked—and he’s already selected his own homesite within the community.

Surprisingly, Mines is more excited about the five miles of trails at The Settings of West Point Lake than he is about the great fishing. He’s also enthusiastic about having his own special place where he can ride his golf cart.

“I’m fishing all the time all over the country,” he says. “When I think about relaxing, I imagine getting out in the wilderness. This kind of trail system is something I dream about.”

Mines is also eager to help the community succeed, and he’s already assisted The Settings Marketing Company in developing a television spot for the community. On his own TV show, Mines is always fishing the waters of West Point Lake, but after learning more about what The Settings offers, he’s also become interested in Lake Rhodhiss and the Pocotaligo River, which runs adjacent to Mackay Point. He plans on doing shows focusing on these areas, helping viewers find out about these undiscovered havens for anglers and fans of the great outdoors.

“Joey is a conservationist in the truest sense of the word,” said Brandon McWhorter, director of sales at The Settings of West Point Lake. “We are thrilled to team with Outdoors with Joey Mines to help promote The Settings of West Point Lake. While Joey’s television show showcases outdoor sports all across North and Central America, his home has always been right here on West Point Lake. Once he learned of our community plans, he was more than eager to champion our cause. We are glad to have him not only as a spokesman but also as a property owner.”
